Audience

Audience are the people being reached by a work, for example a speech or a play. The audience are the people receiving the speech or play by listening or watching. I chose audience because it not only pertains to English and learning it also relates to my life of track and field. In Paul Auster's "Why I Write" Auster approached his audience in a unique way. Auster explained why he did not write a list of why he writes. By making stories he appealed to a younger audience. There is always an audience being entertained by words or other ways of expression.

Sometimes it's important to look for a target audience when creating a piece.
When an author of a piece targets a specific audience it is easier to reach that group and gets them more involved. In the piece "Is Google Making us Stupid" by Carr he targets the technology generation because they are the generation that relies more on Google and other technologies. He wanted to inform this audience that by using so many of these technologies they are in the end hurting their intelligence. Another example is the Time's Person of the Year.The Time's Person of the Year is Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook. Facebook is used by all but mostly the younger generations. When Mark Zuckerberg was chosen for Time's person of the year this article targeted the users of Facebook.

Give the audience what they are asking for. If they want horror give them horror In life we're always preforming for an audience and audience is everywhere.
