This video is a good idea of persistence. The chorus is a list of how much of each thing you need to make it to your goal. This is true in writing, it takes a percentage of everything we have learned in this class to make your writing effective and good. I believe that in writing its all about trying to make each thing you write better than the last one and this takes persistence, to persevere when you don't want to. For good writing the formula is 1/3rd a u d i e n c e, 1/3 g e n r e, and 1/3rd r h e t o r i c a l s i t u a t i o n.

Perfect Practice makes Perfect Performance.

This was something my old music teacher would tell us. Writing is the same also, you need to make every rough draft and every outline as perfect as you can. Perfection isn't always attainable but its a good goal to shoot for cause then your writing will be as good as it can be.

When writing you have to thing of the 3 elements; audience, genre and rhetorical situation. before you begin writing. With these things in mind your writing will definitely be better than the last one. Audience was best exemplified in Carr's "Is Google Making Us Stupid?". He was clearly writing to people who use the Internet. With knowing exactly who your audience is it makes it easier to write and get your point across. In Johnson's "Where Good Ideas Come From", he knew exactly what type of genre he was writing and edited his language and sentence style accordingly. Keeping this in mind will make the genre work more effectively and reach your audience. Bitzer explains the last element, rhetorical situation. He defines this term as simply as why you are writing. This is key because it drives you writing. These 3 elements are key in good writing, by identifying these you writing will be better each time.

The life of Ronaldinho, the famous soccer player from Brazil, was a challenging one as seen in the video but he chose to practice perfectly and make a name of himself. He later became on the worlds best soccer players. His persistence in practicing perfect made his games perfect. Use this inspiration in your writing and it will for sure make your writing exceptional.
